Welcome to André Breton Racing Dot Com, a website that I developed to share my training and racing experiences on a mountain bike and tell the story of how I came to be an endurance mountain bike athlete. You can read the whole story here, in My Road To Leadville. My hope is that events leading to 8 August 2013, when I crossed the finish line at the Leadville Trail 100, will inspire others to go after their own dreams, to set goals and believe that they too can do more than they think they can. And if I can inspire even one person, then I will be paying forward some of the kindness and advice that I received from friends and strangers along the way. Their gifts and my determination allowed me to achieve an epic goal that eventually developed into a long-term passion for cycling and racing.
I live about 6-8 months of the year in Fort Collins, Colorado, at the base of the Rocky Mountains (5000 ft), an ideal location for an endurance athlete and mountain biker. And the remainder with my girlfriend in Hamburg, Germany. Since December 2014, I've been a member of Northern Colorado Grassroots Riders, a grassroots recreational and racing mountain bike team based-out-of Fort Collins that was founded in 1992 by Ralph Eberspacher. The team typically gathers the second Monday of every month at either Social, in Old Town Fort Collins, or Nick's Italian, on College Avenue. If you're interested in bikes and bike racing then consider joining NCGR for a pint some Monday night at either venue, we usually arrive after 6:30 PM. When I'm state-side and not training in the foothills west of town or out on the plains, you might find me cross-training in town at Integrative Physiotherapy or playing competitive soccer at Arena Sports in nearby Windsor, Colorado.
From my website, you can review my race results and many more details including a list of friends that provide financial support, through generous discounts, for my amateur racing endeavors, a gallery of images from my training and racing experiences, and reviews of my bikes, gear, nutrition and other products that I've come to trust after many hours on a WTB Volt saddle.
The latest news from André Breton Racing is available on my blog, please consider dropping-in from time-to-time for updates. Thanks for visiting André Breton Racing Dot Com ... if you have any comments or questions just holla. Here's my contact info.
